It seems like Pinterest has been with us a long time now, when in reality it launched just 3 short years ago back in March 2010. According to Hitwise data, the site became one of the top 10 largest social networking services in December 2011, and is now the third largest social network behind Facebook and Twitter with more than 48 million users.

The date of 26 October 2009 will be remembered as the day Yahoo’s go-to service for anyone who wanted to start a website easily, GeoCities, was terminated.

Now in reality this date may not actually be ingrained in your psyche because the reality is you don't actually miss the old-school flaming text, spinning GIFs, twinkly background stars and bad 16 bit images with loud annoying mono-toned midi music that were so often a feature on GeoCities sites.

It’s been five years since the announcement of HTML5, yet the HTML5 vs. Flash debate continues to rage on among developers.

Proponents of Flash argue that, with over 1 billion users worldwide and 99% of browsers supporting the technology, Flash isn’t going away any time soon and has a much larger audience reach.

HTML5 advocates argue that several of the things Flash fans see as pros are actually major drawbacks – for example, the technology being driven by one company, Adobe, and there being no way for a search engine to properly spider the content.
