Introduction

Graff diamonds is a world famous luxury jewelers, known for ‘the most fabulous jewels in the world’. Graff jewels have been worn by many celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham and Kylie Minogue. The company recently hit the headlines when it purchased the 15th largest rough diamond ever discovered for $12 million.

Totally Communications were introduced to Graff to help with the overall modernization of all their internal database systems.

Data Analysis, Process Analysis & Prototype

We initially reviewed every significant data element held within the global company, and constructed an organisation-wide Logical Data Model.

Once an overall map of the data was in place, we undertook an extensive analysis and subsequent documentation of all Graff’s internal business processes as they related to data storage and transmission.

In order to demonstrate the ‘art of the possible’ to Graff’s we constructed a prototype system for the Graff workshop processes.

Supplier Review and Selection

Following the initial prototype project, it soon became clear that a complete integrated end-to-end workflow system would add significant benefit to the organisation, and we were asked to review and source suppliers for a SAP Business One solution.

Change Management & General Consultancy

During the whole process of computerization, we helped and ‘hand held’ some of Graff’s personnel through the often extremely painful process of change.

As the new SAP Business One system was being configured and implemented, we stayed around and added value across many different areas of the business.
